From the dashboard detail page (the page that you are automatically taken to after creating a dashboard) you have the option to control various high-level settings for the dashboard. To open the settings menu, click the cog-wheel icon in the top-right of the dashboard detail page.
Below are details of what the various settings control:
Refresh Frequency controls whether or not the dashboard will automatically check for new data and at what frequency it will do so. The refresh is ideal for wall dashboards. Ensure that the consumers of the dashboard have read access to the tables that the charts are pulling data from if you use a refresh.
Primary Portal the primary Service Portal that this dashboard will be used in. It's not necessary to make a selection, but in order to reveal the 'Preview Page' link this must be set.
Primary Page the primary Service Portal that this dashboard will be used in. It's not necessary to make a selection, but in order to take advantage of the 'Preview Page' and 'Edit Page' links this must be set.
Display Note Icon? if set to 'Yes', the dashboard will display the notes icon which will allow consumers to share and view an activity log for the dashboard.
Display Email Icon? if set to 'Yes', the dashboard will display the email icon which will allow consumers to send an email to colleagues with a link to the dashboard.
Display Title? if set to 'Yes', the dashboard title will be displayed with the Dashboard Controller on the page.
Title the name of the dashboard that will be displayed as a title on the page if 'Display title?' is set to yes.
